The Texas Rangers have recalled Grant Anderson from AAA Round Rock, the team announced today. Anderson takes the active roster spot that opened up when Josh Sborz was placed on the 15 day injured list yesterday. In addition, the Rangers have announced that relief pitcher Kolton Ingram was claimed on waivers by the St. Louis Cardinals.
With Sborz going to the injured list and Jack Leiter being back in the minors until his next start in a few days, the Rangers were in position to add an arm to the bullpen. Assuming they didn’t want to add someone who wasn’t already on the 40 man roster, their choices were Grant Anderson and Antoine Kelly.
