BALTIMORE -- What a weekend for Shin-Soo Choo.
On Friday, he celebrated his 36th birthday by getting his face smashed deep into a cake by Elvis Andrus and Rougned Odor. On Saturday, he will aim to take his club-record streak of games reaching base to half a hundred. On Sunday evening, he will make the short drive over to Washington, D.C., to join the American League All-Star team for the first time in his career.
"I think the guys were more excited for me than I was for my birthday," Choo said after extending his streak to 49 games in a 5-4 win over Baltimore.
