Huff cracks MLB.com catcher prospect list

MLB.com is doing their lists of the top 10 prospects at every position, and Texas Rangers catcher Sam Huff made the cut on their list of the top 10 catching prospects, coming in seventh.

Huff made his major league debut in 2020, but is expected to start the 2021 season either in Frisco or in Round Rock. A big (6’5”, 240 lb.) righthanded hitter who just turned 23 last week, Huff has legit raw power and a great arm, but there are questions about his hit tool (he has 400 Ks in 1342 plate appearances as a professional), as well as whether his receiving skills and mobility will be good enough to allow him to stay behind the plate.
