'He’s not going to quit': After giving up four runs in the first, Lance Lynn battles back to lead Rangers to win vs. White Sox

ARLINGTON -- Despite the bases loaded, first-inning situation, Rangers manager Chris Woodward said he felt like Lance Lynn was going to escape.

Lynn was one strike away, too, but Chicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson sent a fly ball off the bottom of the wall in right centerfield, clearing the bases and giving the White Sox an early 3-0 lead. A double from Yolmer Sanchez made it a 4-0 hole for the Rangers.

That fourth earned run guaranteed that Lynn's streak of eight-consecutive quality starts would end, no matter what happened the rest of Saturday's game. Some pitchers in Lynn's shoes might've folded right then and there, Woodward said.
