Texas Rangers transactions: Ronald Guzman has been activated from the injured list today, as expected. In an unexpected move, Shawn Kelley has been placed on the injured list with what is described as an “infection.” Wei-Chieh Huang has been recalled to take his place.
Guzman will presumably resume his everyday first base duties now that he is back. Huang joins the collection of multi-inning arms in the pen available for those times when a Ranger starter can’t go deep into a game. Kelley had been a key late inning guy for Texas, and will be missed.
