The Texas Rangers have assigned righthanded pitcher Taylor Guerrieri, righthanded pitcher Michael Tonkin, lefthanded pitcher Miguel Del Pozo and lefthanded pitcher Brady Feigl to the minor league camp, the team announced today. There are now 60 players in the major league camp.
All four of these players are relief pitchers who were in camp on minor league deals. All were longshots to make the Opening Day roster, though with no established lefthanded relief option, Feigl is someone who had been mentioned as a possible contender. His being sent down this early in camp is mildly surprising.
