Elvis Andrus, all grown up: An inside look at the Rangers shortstop from the people who helped shape him

He still plays the music too loud.

At the outset of the Rangers' recent trip that included spouses and families, and facing a three-hour delay, Elvis Andrus boarded the team flight carrying his rollaboard in one hand and the ever-present Monster Blasterbox (disco light, included) in the other. His wife, Cori, trailed him, just shaking her head.

A day later, the start of manager Jeff Banister's daily press briefing at Yankee Stadium had to be postponed about 90 seconds because Andrus, the music blaring from his shoulder, was strolling the hallway.

Andrus, who turns 30 on Sunday, is finishing up his 10th season in the big leagues.
