The Texas Rangers have purchased the contract of pitcher Dane Dunning and added him to the active roster, the team announced today. To make room for him on the active roster, the Rangers have optioned pitcher Caleb Boushley to AAA Round Rock. There was already an open spot on the 40 man roster so no move was needed then.
This is a move to get a fresh long man in the bullpen for the Rangers. Boushley was asked to wear it for the Rangers yesterday after he allowed a 2-2 game to turn into a 7-2 game in his first inning in relief of Jack Leiter, and ultimately threw 72 pitches over four innings.
