Adrian Beltre managed to avoid the disabled list and start at third base Saturday, and he had a hand in the Texas Rangers’ tying rally in the ninth inning.
But he was on the bench as the replay official turned away the potential go-ahead run later in the ninth and when Robinson Chirinos hit a three-run homer in the 11th to lift the Rangers to a 6-3 victory.
The Rangers were down 3-1 after eight after Adam Lind launched a two-run homer in the Nationals’ three-run sixth. But Shin-Soo Choo opened the ninth with a home run, followed by an Elvis Andrus single and Beltre’s walk.
