The Texas Rangers released outfielder Josh Hamilton in April after the slugger needed another right knee surgery. He was on a minor-league deal, but was unable to get on the field due to knee issues.
At this point it’s safe to say that Hamilton’s playing career is just about over. He hasn’t officially retired, but plans to evaluate the situation after he’s healthy. The 36-year-old hasn’t played in the Majors since 2015 with the Rangers.
Hamilton’s playing career might be over, but he’ll go down as one of the best hitters in Rangers history.
