Chris Seise, the shortstop who was the Texas Rangers second pick in the 2017 draft, will miss the rest of the 2019 season after undergoing surgery on his left shoulder to repair a torn labrum. Seise missed all of 2018 after surgery on his right shoulder.
This is bad, bad news, and there’s no other way to put this. Seise was impressive in his pro debut in 2017, and this spring had people saying he was possibly the best position player prospect in the Rangers system. He got off to a hot start in Hickory this year, then slumped, and is now apparently done for the rest of the year.
