The Texas Rangers have activated first baseman Jake Burger from the 10 day injured list, the team announced today. To make room for him on the active roster, the Rangers have optioned third baseman Josh Jung to AAA Round Rock.
So, this is kind of a big deal.
Burger was with Frisco yesterday to begin what was expected to be a multi-day rehab assignment. It was anticipated he would return to the active roster on Friday in San Diego. Instead, the Rangers are bringing him back a couple of days early to take Josh Jung’s spot on the roster.
