A Saturday surprise for the Rangers, and it isn’t good news for Rougned Odor

Second baseman Rougned Odor landed on the 10-day injured list Saturday, delivering another blow to the Texas Rangers’ lineup.

Odor sprained his right knee Friday during batting practice and was a late scratch from the lineup. He joins first baseman Ronald Guzman (right hamstring) on the IL, and infielder Danny Santana was promoted from Triple A Nashville to take Odor’s spot.

Right-hander Edinson Volquez, who went on the 10-day IL on April 5 with a sprained right elbow, was transferred to the 60-day IL to create a 40-man spot for Santana.
