The Texas Rangers must be having a hard time saying goodbye to their beloved Ballpark because tonight they had a real vintage slugfest in Arlington to open the penultimate series in The Ballpark’s tenure in a game that took over four hours to finalize.
The Boston Red Sox came to Texas and put up 12 runs on 14 hits with at least one run in each of the first five frames. The Rangers countered with 10 runs on 15 hits with at least one run in five of their nine frames. If you were to squint during this one, you might have thought you were watching a real jet stream-infused heavyweight American League bout straight out of the year 2000, just as The Ballpark would have wanted it.
