The Texas Rangers scored two runs but the Clevelands scored seven runs.
Tonight’s starting pitcher Jake Latz debuted and, you know what, it was fine. The 2017 fifth-rounder gave up three runs on five hits with zero walks and four strikeouts in 4 2⁄3 innings during his first time on a big league mound.
So the bad news is, three of those five hits reached the seats for home runs. That was also Latz’s bugaboo during his ascension in the minor leagues this season, so keeping balls in the park will be the next step in his development.
