35-57 - Rangers stifled by Blue Jays in 5-0 doubleheader opener loss

The Texas Rangers did not score and the Toronto Blue Jays scored five runs.

Kolby Allard pitched deep into this one but by that I mean that this game lasted only seven innings because it is 2021 and this was the first game of a doubleheader.

Allard also allowed five runs on seven hits and a walk in his 5 13 innings of work with the runs far outpacing what the Rangers’ lineup was capable of doing in the opener.

On the opposite side of the field, Jays starter Hyun Jin Ryu tossed a “complete game” shutout as the Rangers were smothered again on the other side of the All-Star break.
