26-29 - Two runs much too much for Rangers to overcome in opener loss

Related Topics: Texas Rangers, Jacob deGrom

The Texas Rangers scored a run but the Toronto Blue Jays scored two runs.

Weird game today for Jacob deGrom who followed up throwing over 100 pitches last time in New York with just 81 pitches and an outing without a strikeout for the first time in his career. There was talk about perhaps a blister necessitating his exit but who knows.

Nevertheless, deGrom allowed just two runs on four hits in 5 13 innings because he converted briskly into his crafty veteran era.

It was not a weird game for the rest of the Rangers as they scored one run on five hits with none of those hits coming with runners in scoring position.
