23-37 - Rangers say goodbye to win column, lose to Rays 3-0

The Texas Rangers scored zero runs and the Tampa Bay Rays scored three runs.

Were it 2020, today would have been the season finale as today was the Rangers’ 60th baseball game this year following a 60-game slate a year ago.

Last year, the Rangers finished 22-38 with the worst record in the American League. This year, through 60 games, the Rangers are 23-37 with only the third worst record in baseball. So, progress?

The Rangers and Kolby Allard allowed two first inning runs to the Rays and then the two squads could have basically just taken the rest of their Saturday off as nothing else of note happened until a solo Manuel Margot dinger in the top of the eighth.
