2025 Texas Rangers Recap: Week Six

The Rangers have now made a number of moves to remedy their lack of hitting and stagnant offense. Most of those moves within the last 24 hours.

Texas fired their hitting coach, Donnie Ecker, after the bats came to life in their 8-1 win to close out the series against Seattle. Leody Taveras was put on waivers to make room for Evan Carter who has been playing much better in his last 14 games, slashing .289/.351/.577.

Taveras is expected to clear waivers and be optioned to Triple A Frisco.

To replace Ecker, the Rangers have hired Bret Boone who has never coached in MLB but did play a season under Bruce Bochy in San Diego which must count for a lot.
