I very hesitantly ask... is Marcus Semien back?
Against the Cardinals, Semien went seven for eight with three walks and a homer.
It had been obvious, and Bruce Bochy pointed it out too, Semien’s slump was not for lack of trying. It was very clear he was trying, too hard. He was reaching for pitches clearly trying to go the other way, doing almost anything to break the slump. Clearly he got stuck in his head.
Going four for four in the opening game of the Cardinals series felt like a sigh of relief, for the fans, Semien, and Bochy.
