The problem with meeting expectations as much as the Rangers have so far this season – especially when the expectations weren’t great to begin with – is it is incredibly uninspiring to feel like you’re watching something so predetermined.
Sure, if the Rangers were expected to be good and then were, that wouldn’t feel like this because excellence is always interesting and is often displayed in different and unique ways. But baseball without surprises is antithetical to the design of the sport so the Rangers are, unfortunately, a monotonous indecency right now.
