16-29 - Rangers give A’s a rude awakening in 5-2 Game 1 win

The Texas Rangers scored five runs and the Oakland Athletics scored two runs.

The Rangers took a page out of Oakland’s book by scoring five runs in the first frame to go up big before the game had settled in. The five run outburst for Texas came via home runs by Rougned Odor and Ronald Guzman.

The A’s tried to get a little cute and debut a fresh starter making his MLB debut but Daulton Jefferies had the kind of first inning that is usually reserved for young Rangers.
