The Texas Rangers scored eight runs and the Boston Red Sox scored six runs.
The Rangers trailed at one point 2-0 early and then again 5-3 in the middle innings tonight against the American League East leading Red Sox. However, unlikely many games this season, they kept plating runs and, before they knew it, they had themselves a late lead large enough to hold onto in a clash of comeback attempts between AL combatants.
While Texas trailed by multiple runs, multiple times tonight, they also had leads of 3-2 and 7-5 which made Boston’s refusal to relent a bothersome experience until it wasn’t.
