Texas Football Recruiting: 4-Star CB Target To Visit, Longhorns To Flip Oklahoma Commit?

The college football season doesn't start for roughly two months, giving the Texas Longhorns plenty of time to focus on recruiting. Texas has turned up the heat on the recruiting trail during the offseason, and it's already paid off with six commitments - not including the players Texas landed after the Baylor scandal - but the Longhorns are far from done. Here are the latest news and rumors surrounding Texas football recruiting

Longhorns to flip Oklahoma commit?
Three-star wide receiver Jalen Reagor (Waxahachie, TX) flipped his commitment from Texas Tech to Oklahoma in March, but he says Texas is still working hard to recruit him to try to flip him again.

“I still communicate,” Reagor said. “They still text me here and there and call me. They just try to stay on me. They’re just trying to see if they’re still on my list. But I don’t see myself going to another school.”

He jokingly said his interest in Texas is "confidential," but that he is still solid on the Sooners.

“I’m 100 percent solid. When I went up there, I fell completely in love. And then just having the people that I’m going in with (other commits), it just feels like family already.”

The 5'11", 182-pounder is ranked as the No. 15 wide receiver and No. 128 overall prospect in the country.

Top CB target to visit
Four-star cornerback Deangelo Gibbs (Loganville, GA) has almost strictly SEC schools on his list, but he does have growing interest in Texas. In fact, he plans to make a visit to Austin this fall:

“I believe I will make a visit there, actually,” Gibbs said, via 247sports.. “I want to make it soon. It might be during the season. I want to see how (Charlie Strong) runs things and how he treats his players.

“It’s a great school. They have a great tradition. It’s a great program. I like them all around.”

Gibbs also make a trip to Texas last year. He plans to announce his college decision in December and will enroll early.

The 6'2", 204-pounder is ranked as the No. 5 cornerback and No. 37 overall prospect in the country.
