Texas Football has made major coaching changes, replacing both the offensive coordinator and defensive coordinator. Tom Herman still has his job, but is now on the hot seat and must get this coordinator hires correct. So who are the top candidates to replace Tim Beck as the Texas Offensive Coordinator and Todd Orlando as the Texas Defensive Coordinator? We’ve got the top Texas targets and some realistic options.

Offensive Coordinator Candidates for Texas feature some big names. Joe Brady and Jeff Scott might be the biggest of the bunch, but would they leave their safe and stable jobs to be possible Tim Beck Replacements? It’s not like LSU and Clemson are bad.
Graham Harrell, currently at USC, might be the favorite for the Texas OC job. Rhett Lashlee is a possible fall-back option, as is current Texas analyst Larry Fedora. Chad Morris is another interesting name, given that he was just fired by Arkansas. Ed Warinner knows Herman from their time at OSU and a current OSU coach, Mike Yurcich also makes sense.

The Defensive Coordinator Candidates list is a little bit shorter. Coaches like Mike MacIntyre and Barry Odom are available, but they aren’t the top targets as Todd Orlando Replacements.
Chris Ash was fired by Rutgers and took on an analyst role for Texas, making him a logical option as the DC. That’s the role he filled with Ohio State when he and Herman where there. But if the Longhorns can find a way to land Utah’s Morgan Scalley, that should be their first choice.
