IRVING, Texas – Texas' Sam Worley and Kathryn Gillespie were named the Big 12 Cross Country Runners of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday. It is the second time this season that the Longhorns have swept the league's weekly honors, previously doing so on Sept. 3 when Worley and Destiny Collins were recognized.
Tuesday's announcement marks the second Big 12 weekly honor of Worley's career and the first for Gillespie, who is a transfer from Harvard.
Worley, a native of New Braunfels, Texas, was Texas' top finisher in a stacked field at the Bill Dellinger Invitational this past weekend.
