AUSTIN, Texas – Texas junior Brooke McCarty is one of 20 point guards nationally who on Monday was named to the preseason watch list for the 2017 Nancy Lieberman Award.
Now in its 17th year, the Nancy Lieberman Award recognizes the top point guard in NCAA Division I college basketball. Candidates exhibit floor leadership, play-making and ball-handling skills. The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame is the host of the Nancy Lieberman Award.
McCarty, a 5-foot-4 League City, Texas, native, was named a Preseason All-Big 12 Conference selection earlier this month and Sporting News selected her third-team Preseason All-America.
