LAWRENCE, Kan. – The Texas Women's Basketball team completed its season sweep of Kansas with a 61-52 victory at Allen Fieldhouse on Wednesday night. The win improved Texas to 16-6 overall and 10-5 in Big 12 play this season. The Longhorns have now won at least 10 Big 12 games in each of the last six seasons.
The Longhorns held Kansas to just five points (2-12 FG; 16.7%) in the first quarter, the second-fewest points UT has allowed in a quarter this season. Only a four-point second quarter in a Feb. 10 win over Oklahoma State marked a better 10-minute showing by Texas defensively this season.
