“Dominate the zone.”
The simple directive that Max Weiner honed in the Seattle Mariners organization helped the Texas A&M Aggies come within a win of the program’s first national title last year in his only season in College Station as the Aggies set school records with 715 strikeouts, led the nation with 12 shutouts, and finished fourth in the country with a 3.86 ERA.
That’s 82 more strikeouts than the previous season, nine more shutouts, and an ERA that dropped from 5.66., helping reliever Evan Aschenbeck and starter Ryan Prager earn All-American honors.
