UT football assistants to get raises

AUSTIN — After reportedly considering jobs elsewhere this offseason, assistant football coaches Brick Haley and Jeff Traylor decided to stay at Texas. Now it’s clear the Longhorns made it worth their while.

Haley and Traylor are both due to have significant pay raises approved this week, according to a UT System Board of Regents agenda book posted online Sunday.

Haley, the defensive line coach who was reported to have an offer from Texas A&M in February, will see his base salary increase from $235,000 to $495,000 if regents approve the raise.

Traylor, the tight ends coach who was linked to a job opening at Missouri, is in line to have his salary bumped from $245,000 to $350,000 per year.
