Two five-star prospects headline Texas official visit weekend

Surprisingly cool temperatures in Austin provide a stark contrast to the rising temperature of recruiting efforts for the Texas Longhorns after landing five commitments coming out of the first summer official visits last weekend on the Forty Acres as head coach Steve Sarkisian’s program gains momentum with prospects like consensus five-star defensive lineman Lamar Brown.

The second of three visit weekends in June starts on Friday with the Horns scheduled to host 14 prospects, including two consensus five-star prospects in Mansfield Lake Ridge offensive tackle Felix Ojo and Gainesville (Ga.) linebacker Xavier Griffin.

But it’s a group deep with talent that could define whether Texas signs another top-five class or once again competes to sign the nation’s top class with five top-50 prospects, six top-100 prospects, and every recruit other than Austin Anderson safety commit Yaheim Riley ranked among the nation’s top 275 players.
