University of Texas Women's Basketball associate head coach Tina Thompson has been selected for induction into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame, Class of 2018, it was announced Thursday. The 2018 Women's Basketball Hall of Fame Induction Weekend will be June 8-10, 2018 in Knoxville, Tenn.
The announcement of the 2018 class was made Monday evening during the ESPN2 telecast of the Louisville vs. UConn game. The 2018 induction will mark the 20th anniversary of the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame, which held its grand opening and inaugural induction in 1999.
Thompson, who is in her third season on the Texas coaching staff, was the first overall pick in the inaugural WNBA Draft, a two-time Olympic gold medalist and a four-time WNBA Champion.
