AUSTIN, Texas — By the time that Texas Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisian fielded a question about freshman wide receiver Ryan Wingo on Thursday, he’d already mentioned the 6’2, 210-pounder twice.

Asked about the wide receiver rotation that currently sits at six, Sarkisian brought up Wingo discussing the confidence he gained from the backups making plays when the starters began to get fatigued against Colorado State in last week’s season opener.

“Whether it was Ryan Wingo, Johntay Cook, Silas Bolden, when those guys went on the field, they made their plays and so I think it’s very comforting for us as a staff to know that we have six really quality receivers that can play and play at a high level the moment never felt too big for any of them,” Sarkisian said.
