For the first time since the series against the West Virginia Mountaineers, the Texas Longhorns will take the field on Tuesday at UFCU Disch-Falk Field for a revenge game against the Incarnate Word Cardinals, 3-2 winners over the Longhorns in San Antonio in late March.
The loss featured three runs in the first two innings by Incarnate Word and a tepid offensive performance for Texas, which only managed four hits.
And though it’s not much consolation for a program that has lost 10 of the last 11 games and expects to beat a program like the Cardinals in every matchup, UIW does have its most wins overall (34) and most conference wins (17) since 2011, when it was a Division II program.
