Texas Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisian suspended freshman wide receiver Keithron Lee on Tuesday after the Bryan Rudder product was arrested and charged with assault of a family member on Sunday.
“We’re aware of the situation with Keithron Lee,” Sarkisian said in a statement released by the school. “We have talked with his family and he has been suspended from all team activities at this time as we continue to monitor the legal process.”
Lee was released on a $5,000 bond after his arrest in Bryan for allegedly strangling his girlfriend.
According to a probable cause statement, an officer was dispatched to the Highland Villas Apartments where a juvenile claimed she had been assaulted by her boyfriend.
