Texas Sports Hall of Fame ballot includes several Longhorn greats

AUSTIN, Texas – Seven Texas Athletics greats were included on the Texas Sports Hall of Fame's primary 2021 ballot, which was released last week. That group includes Football standouts Phil Dawson (1994-97), Priest Holmes (1992-96), Michael Huff (2002-05), Derrick Johnson (2001-04) and Colt McCoy (2006-09), as well as Women's Basketball star Kamie Ethridge (1982-86) and Softball great Christa Williams (1998-99).

Dawson, a Dallas native, was an All-American kicker and four-year starter who left UT with 13 Longhorn records, including the all-time marks for scoring (339), field goals (59) and field goal accuracy (74.7 percent). He finished his collegiate career ranked 16th on the NCAA all-time scoring list, 12th on the NCAA all-time kick-scoring chart and 31st on the NCAA all-time field goals made list.
