After hitting 27 home runs for the Texas Longhorns over three seasons, right fielder Max Belyeu was picked with the No. 74 selection by the Colorado Rockies in the 2025 MLB Draft on Sunday.
Ranked as the No. 167 overall prospect in the 2022 MLB Draft out of Aledo in the 2022 recruiting class, Belyeu landed on the Forty Acres, but only had 20 at bats as a freshman.
During the 2024 season, the 6’2, 215-pounder broke out, earning Big 12 Player of the Year honors after batting .329 average with 50 runs, 15 doubles, 18 home runs, and 53 RBI.
