On Tuesday, the Big 12 Conference revealed the Preseason All-Big 12 team, as well as the Preseason Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year, as selected by the league’s media representatives. Three Longhorns made the All-Big 12 team, highlighted by the selection of junior quarterback Sam Ehlinger, who received recognition as the Preseason Offensive Player of the Year.
Senior center Zach Shackelford, sophomore safety Caden Sterns, and sophomore kicker Cameron Dicker were the three other selections to the All-Big 12 team.
Ehlinger became the only player in school history to pass for at least 25 touchdowns and rush for 15 touchdowns, with his 41 total touchdowns ranking as the second-best mark in school history.
