AUSTIN -- Texas sophomore quarterback Sam Ehlinger was forced to exit Saturday's game with Baylor on the opening possession of the game.
Ehlinger came off the field with a bloody throwing hand as the Longhorns were in the midst of driving deep into Baylor territory. Junior quarterback Shane Buechele entered the game for his first appearance of the season.
Ehlinger then went into a prop-up medical tent on the sidelines before eventually heading back toward the locker room with Texas trainers for further evaluation.
Texas' drive, meanwhile, stalled. Buechele completed 1-of-2 passes and ran for 11 yards.
