Texas offers 4-star 2020 SDE Xavier Carlton

Tom Herman and the Texas Longhorns are once again looking west in pursuit of top-tier talent.

The latest example came on Wednesday morning, as the Longhorns put an offer on the table for 2020 Modesto (Calif.) Christian strong-side defensive end Xavier Carlton.

Ranked as the nation’s No. 243 player and No. 16 strong-side defensive end, per the 247Sports Composite, Carlton’s offer list now features 17 programs with Notre Dame, USC, Nebraska, Oregon, Stanford, and UCLA among those in the mix.

With the Longhorns becoming the latest to officially express interest, Carlton is now the fourth 2020 strong-side defensive end to notch a Texas offer, joining Houston Cy Ridge star Vernon Broughton, Manor standout Princely Umanmielen, and Bastrop Cedar Creek product Alfred Collins.
