The Texas Longhorns have another in-state prospect on the recruiting radar as the coaching staff pursues linebackers in the 2020 recruiting class, with Todd Orlando extending an offer to Lamar Consolidated running back Taye McWilliams on Thursday evening.
The 6’1.5, 202-pounder currently holds six other offers — Arkansas, Houston, SMU, Texas Tech, and Tulsa — but committed to Baylor in late March.
The longtime pledge of McWilliams to the Bears and the fact that the Longhorns are asking him to give up having the football in his hands will in all likelihood complicate the task of convincing the consensus three-star prospect to flip his pledge.
