Texas Longhorns redshirt freshman S’Maje Burrell announced on Thursday that he will enter the NCAA transfer portal, a day after head coach Steve Sarkisian announced his indefinite suspension from the program.

The spring transfer window opens on April 15.
Burrell’s suspension came after the news broke that Burrell was driving the car that hit former defensive tackle T’Vondre Sweat’s Ford Bronco on Sunday morning, causing it to flip onto its side. Burrell left the scene of the accident before police arrived and Sweat was arrested and charged with DWI.
