FRISCO - The Big 12 has its first-ever openly gay football player.
And the Texas Longhorns see left tackle Scott Frantz and his teammates at Kansas State as trendsetters.
What does Frantz coming out mean to them?
"I don't know in 2017 that it means a whole lot," head coach Tom Herman told SportsDay at Big 12 media days. "From what I read, it means that he's got a very supportive and understanding team ... and that he's surrounded by a very accepting and tolerant group of guys, which I hope would be the case anywhere in this country.
