Texas is getting some immediate help on defense.
The Longhorns picked up an important commitment in the form of junior college linebacker Juwan Mitchell.
He announced his decision via Twitter on Monday night.
A three-star recruit, Mitchell was previously committed to Minnesota but backed out of his pledge before making an official visit to Texas over the weekend.
Mitchell is a unique prospect in the sense that he will count for the 2019 class. He is set to enroll in June and will be eligible immediately.
