Texas is back.
At least they’re back in the top 10 of the Associated Press poll. The Longhorns rose from No. 19 to No. 9 as a result of their big 48-45 win over Oklahoma Sooners in the Red River Showdown this past Saturday.
But where does Tom Herman’s team sit in the early stages of the race for a coveted spot in the four-team College Football Playoff?
According to the latest projection from Five Thirty Eight, the Longhorns aren’t in a great spot.
Texas is currently 5-1, but the projection gives them just a 12-percent chance of earning one of the four postseason slots available.
