Texas injury update: WR Troy Omeire remains out with knee injury

Heading into Big 12 play, the Texas Longhorns remain mostly healthy at key positions, with the exception of one area of need — wide receiver — as the Longhorns struggle to create explosive plays in the passing game.

Redshirt freshman Troy Omeire, a contender for a starting job until a knee injury sustained in preseason camp, will miss a fourth straight game when Texas plays Texas Tech in Austin on Saturday. Omeire was listed as the third-team wide receiver on the Louisiana depth chart, behind freshman Xavier Worthy and redshirt freshman Kelvontay Dixon.

A Longhorns player also suffered a season-ending knee injury against the Owls — freshman cornerback Ishmael Ibraheem appeared to tear his ACL late in the game.
