Texas football’s most dominant player that nobody’s talking about in 2025

Texas' first-year starting right tackle, Brandon Baker, has been absolutely dominant in 2025 and it appears as though nobody has taken notice yet.

Though he definitely had a rough start to the year against Ohio State in week one, he's consistently improved each and every week in both phases of the game. He's always been a pretty decent run-blocker, but he was having trouble with oversetting on defenders to start the year. Baker was also spotty when it came to hand placement at the point of contact against quicker pass rushers.

Now, he's seemingly corrected everything that was giving him trouble early on in the season and that can be attributed to both Baker and Texas OL coach Kyle Flood.
