The importance of the success of the Texas football program to the world of college football was well-documented this offseason. We should all know the significance that comes with Texas staying relevant both for the program (and its fans, players, and coaches) and the Big 12. But with the heightened expectations comes the added pressure of performing at an elevated level week in and week out.
Last season, it wasn’t the biggest stage that hurt the Texas Longhorns football program, it was the smaller games that it seemed like the team looked past. Losses to teams like the Oklahoma State Cowboys and Maryland Terrapins proved that there was something missing for the Longhorns at times in 2018.
