That victory for Texas football came by a closer score than the actual game played out on the field. Georgia rallied late to add a touchdown in the final 20 seconds of the game. This victory came on the shoulders of a career-defining performance from sophomore quarterback Sam Ehlinger.
As a result of his efforts in the one-possession Sugar Bowl victory for Sam Ehlinger, he received the Most Outstanding Player honors.
