Despite the widespread success the Texas football program has seen over the past two months, head coach Tom Herman knows this is just the beginning as he hit the recruiting trail hard over the bye week. Texas football recruiting is establishing a new standard of success for the last two classes.
On Tuesday, Herman added to the 2019 recruiting class when four-star athlete Peyton Powell pledged his commitment to the Longhorns. Powell chose the Horns over the likes of the Ohio State Buckeyes, Oklahoma Sooners, and TCU Horned Frogs, among others. Via 247Sports, Powell is ranked 351st nationally, 19th at his position, and 42nd in the great state of Texas.
